NOTICE OF SPECIALLY CALLED MEETING

The Georgia Real Estate Commission will have a specially called meeting on Thursday June 30, 2016 at 10:00am via Teleconference. You may participate by calling at 404-656-6704. The only item on the agenda is whether or not the Commission should object to a motion to suspend the sanction against Rico Martinez Pearson & Buyer Realty, LLC pending the results in an appeal filed by Respondents in the Superior Court of Fulton County Against the Georgia Real Estate Commission in CIV: No. 2016 cv 276094

ADOPTED RULE – CUSTOMARY AND REASONABLE FEES

The Board has adopted a rule that requires Appraisal Management Companies (“AMCs”) to pay appraisers customary and reasonable fees for appraisal services being performed for one to four family residential units for the market area being appraised. The Board has also funded a study of customary and reasonable fees paid in Georgia in 2014 for appraisal services being performed for one to four family residential units.

REAL ESTATE LICENSEE ALERT!

On July 1, 2015: required hours of continuing education increase from 24 to 36.

On July 1, 2016: 3 of the 36 hours must be on the topic of License Law.

NOTICE TO REAL ESTATE APPRAISERS OF RULE CHANGES

The Georgia Real Estate Appraisers Board adopted changes to the “Appraiser Classifications and Their Education, Examination, and Experience Requirements” Rule and the “Courses” rule. These Rules implement the Real Property Appraiser Qualification Criteria required as of January 1, 2015 as established by the Appraiser Qualifications Board (AQB) of The Appraisal Foundation. These Rules are effective as of January 1, 2015.
