Employment Opportunity – Investigator

The Board has posted a proposed rule that requires Appraisal Management Companies (“AMCs”) to pay appraisers customary and reasonable fees for appraisal services being performed for one to four family residential units for the market area being appraised. A public Hearing will be held at 9:30 am on August 19, 2015 at the Board office to provide for public comments on the proposed rule. The Board has also funded a study of customary and reasonable fees paid in Georgia in 2014 for appraisal services being performed for one to four family residential units. On July 1, 2015: required hours of continuing education increase from 24 to 36.

On July 1, 2016: 3 of the 36 hours must be on the topic of License Law.

The Georgia Real Estate Appraisers Board adopted changes to the “Appraiser Classifications and Their Education, Examination, and Experience Requirements” Rule and the “Courses” rule. These Rules implement the Real Property Appraiser Qualification Criteria required as of January 1, 2015 as established by the Appraiser Qualifications Board (AQB) of The Appraisal Foundation. These Rules are effective as of January 1, 2015.
